This years course is in Edinburgh  17-30 July 2020

Your local Nia teachers in Scotland are so glad you clicked and landed here as we would love more teachers in Scotland to bring Nia Classes to more people.  Nia is 35 years old and a world-wide slow-burner.  Its been here in Scotland for 12 years waiting for you to find it.  Many of us currently teaching Nia in Scotland stumbled upon it by accident and couldn't believe what we had found.  It is fitness, it is movement, it is healing and stress-busting, it is mindful and helps you learn to use your body to improve and sustain your health throughout your life - truely a find!

Everyone can enjoy movement and the benefits it brings for stress-release, healing and general fitness.  Nia emphasises Joy in Movement and we hope you will find out more and think seriously about training in Scotland THIS SUMMER.

There is only one training class in Scotland annually and what a wonderful one it is.  We have two international Nia trainers visit us (one from Italy and one from the U.S.A) and the whole Scottish Nia community like to join in with the training course for two public Nia classes a day - its a great treat and a superb opportunity.

We of course understand that you might need to try a class first or speak to one of us about Nia in Scotland, the training and teaching Nia.  We can try to explain what Nia is like to you in words - but it is actually really difficult - you really are best coming to try it out. Look at our map below or use our class finder and come and experience Nia if your interest is sparked, even just a little! If you don't think you could make that happen - for our best explanation in words please click here...

Unique Gentle Pathway to Teaching Nia

The course which qualifies you to teach Nia is a 7 day course called the White Belt.

Once you have done this course you are then free to take out a Nia Teacher membership - but you don't have to do that right away.  No further formal study or video assessment is needed because Nia training is done in a rather different pathway to mainstream fitness. That is because Nia is a practice and life-style (rather like Yoga).   Your teacher or trainer will explain more.  There is no formal need to continue with training beyond White Belt - White Belt qualifies you to be a Nia Teacher - but in later years, if you desire to deepen your mastery you can progress up the Nia belt system to Blue, Brown and Black - Nia provides potential for growth - when and if you want it - at your pace in your own way.  The second level (Blue) is also available in Scotland, and the further levels in the UK and worldwide.

COMING SOON

We are compiling comments and experiences from current Nia teachers from all over Scotland and the UK asking them how they came into Nia from other background  such as Reiki master, Yoga teacher, Pilates practioner, opera singer,  childrens-music & movement teacher or just a keen Nia class-member. They all say that Nia gave them the missing piece.

We also have several Nia teachers in Scotland who had no healing and fitness background but just fell in love with Nia - and had to teach it to get more!
